BLM to hold hearing on Wyo. wild horse roundup

     ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. (AP) – Opponents of a proposal to round up
wild horses in Wyoming say they’ve collected over 3,000 letters
from citizens opposed to the idea.
     Wildlife photographer Carol Walker says she’ll hand deliver the
letters to the U.S. Bureau of Land Management Monday ahead of a
public hearing.
     The BLM is set to take public comment on the issue at 5:30 p.m.
at the Rock Springs Field Office. It wants to use helicopters and
vehicles to round up horses in the Adobe Town and Salt Wells Creek
Herd Management Areas in the coming year.
     Walker is upset that the agency didn’t take public comment by
e-mail as well. She says the letters are from wild horse advocates
from across the country.
