Teams searching Beaver Rim for missing man

RIVERTON, Wyo. – Authorities have still not found a man from Cody lost along Beaver Rim southeast of Riverton. Fremont County Search and Rescue crews began looking for the 55-year-old man on Tuesday afternoon after his wife reported he’d wrecked his vehicle and couldn’t make it back from a hunting trip. By that time, the woman had already driven over from Cody and searched the area herself. She told authorities her husband called late Monday night to say he’d had a crash and was “fine,” but needed help getting out of the area. By noon, today, county crews were searching both by ground and air, with the use of a fixed-wing aircraft.

Lost man found OK

FORT WASHAKIE, Wyo. – Fremont County Search and Rescue crews were just out over Labor Day weekend searching for another man. A hiker went missing in the Shoshone Lake area, which is near Fort Washakie on the Wind River Indian Reservation.

The 25-year-old man from Utah was found after spending a night in the wilderness. He was hiking with friends, but got separated from the others. The hiking party searched for the missing man most of Friday, then called for help Saturday morning. By noon that day, he was located by county search and rescue crews.

Fremont County Search and Rescue, which is made up of volunteers, has now tallied 41 missions since the beginning of the year.
