Rawlins uses state grant for rec center efficiency

RAWLINS, Wyo. (AP) – The city of Rawlins is using a Wyoming
Business Council grant to improve the energy efficiency of the city
recreation center.
The city is using the $247,000 grant to add new doors, windows,
lighting and insulation to the Rawlins Family Recreation Center.
The Rawlins Daily Times reports the project went out for bid
Aug. 31 and the low bid came in at $245,000.
City engineer Kent Kisselman says the top priority is replacing
windows and doors because they let in heat during the summer – and
lose heat in winter.
City Manager Steve Golnar says improving energy efficiency is a
city council priority.
