Today on Chit Chat: Friday, Sept. 17, 2010

‘Let’s Talk Business’ with Kent Shurtleff and Dan Moline of Wyoming National Bank

The two men talked about their careers and how they opened the bank in 1999 after the bank they were working at, Riverton State Bank, was sold to a corporation, Wells Fargo. The bank, which is now located at the corner of Federal and Webbwood Road, started out in the corner of a donut shop.

Both talked about those early beginnings and about how they came into the banking business. Shurtleff is president and Moline is the senior vice-president. Shurtleff said they decided to be a national bank, rather than state bank, because getting a charter took less time. At the time, he said, there hadn’t been a new bank chartered in 20 years. The bank is run by a group of 12 directors, including himself, who he said, are “very involved” and focus on the “market we serve.”
