Drug charges put local man in prison

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – A 35-year-old Riverton man has been sentenced to seven years of prison on drug charges. Darrell Saunders was sentenced last week for possession and distribution of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. The information was released by the U.S. Attorney’s office in Cheyenne.

As part of his sentencing, Saunders will also be on supervised released for five years and pay a $100 special assessment fee.  The sentencing was passed down by Chief Federal District Court Judge William F. Downs.

The case was investigated by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
