RIVERTON, Wyo. — Central Wyoming College in Riverton has been awarded a $230,000 federal grant to continue a program called Talent Search.
The program, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Education, identifies and assists individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education.
Director of the program at the college is Kristy Salisbury. She says the program provides academic, career and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to complete their postsecondary education.
The Riverton community college was the only institution in Wyoming to be awarded the grant and the funds make it possible to operate the program for the next five years.
