President Jo Anne McFarland of Central Wyoming College in Riverton said the college trustees approved the 2012 budget Wednesday night for $55 million, which is an increase of about $25 million from last year because of the health and science facility build.

The Riverton school district budget’s a little higher. Approved for the 2011-12 school fiscal year Tuesday night was a budget of $58.5 million. Superintendent Terry Snyder said increases were seen in the general fund for supplies, salaries and insurance. He said there was also an increase in major maintenance and cited the new heating and cooling system at Ashgrove Elementary School.

Both of the school administrators were guests this morning on KVOW’s Chit Chat show.
