Wolverines Big 4th period takes care of Green River

Riverton: The Riverton Wolverines boys basketball team scored 24 points in the 4th period last night on Senior Night to hand the Wolves a 63-45 loss. The Wolverines defense shut down the Wolves in the second half allowing them only 23 points on 32% shooting from the field. The Wolverines shot 74% from the field in the second half scoring 37 points. Four players ended up in double figures Kole Stewart, Spencer Yowell, Xavier Webb and Seth Quayle for Riverton.

The Lady Wolverines fought a hard tough battle in the first game with the Lady Wolves on Senior night to lose a heartbreaker 36-31. Seniors, Sheridan Smith (8)  Hannah Svilar (10) and Hannah Soll (8) had good nights for the Lady Wolverines. The defense did very well in shutting down the Lady Wolves through out most of the game, a third period run for the Wolves (7-2) helped in giving them the close win.

The next game for both girls and boys will be Saturday against Evanston to end the regular season. Games times are at 12:30 and 2pm and can be heard on KTAK 93.9FM and online at rivertonradio.com
