Vivian Watkins – said her Heavenly Sunshine Gardens will open in June to the community, on Saturday mornings, from 9-11, until frost. To get there from Riverton, she said head north down 8th West from Main Street and you’ll run into it at about the two and a half mile mark (1765 N. 8th West). She said she invites visitors to pick their own vegetables and herbs or buy from the local food producers set up on the grounds. Last year, she said, people came to eat goodies, stay for a visit and even play on the swing-set and throw some horseshoes.

Alex Malcolm – invited listeners to the 4-H Carnival. It’s Saturday night, May 5, from 5-9 at the Fremont County Fairgrounds in Riverton. There’s no admission to get in and tickets for the games cost 20 cents. They include ring tossing, basketball and roping, along with a cake walk and dunk tank. There will also be food available for purchase, like hot dogs, chili and cookies. The event is open to the public. Proceeds go to the local 4-H club to pay for travel and programming for the more than 500 members.
