RIVERTON, Wyo. — A couple hundred people showed up yesterday afternoon for the groundbreaking of the new health and science center at Central Wyoming College in Riverton. Both the College President Jo Ann McFarland and Dr. Roger Gose who campaigned for the bond initiative to pay for the facility were overwhelmed by the moment.

The bond initiative of  $11.5 million to pay for the facility was approved two years ago by Fremont County voters, then state lawmakers voted to spend $6.5 million to expand the project. Construction starts Saturday on the new building. It was designed by a Denver architectural firm and a company from Colorado is the general contractor, but school officials say most of the subcontractors secured for the work are coming from Wyoming.
