Weed, Mosquito Dangers

Submitted by Newsroom on July 5, 2012 – 9:20 amNo Comment

On Chit Chat, Thursday, July 5, 2012 — Lars Baker of the Fremont County Weed and Pest agency warned listeners to be vigilant. He said keep standing weeds mowed down so they won’t kindle a fire and use mosquito repellent. He said the numbers of culex tarsalis mosquitoes found in traps across the county are the same as last year. That means the threat of West Nile Virus remains high because they are the carriers of the deadly disease. He said they’re true predators that come out at night when it’s cool and bite you in your sleep.
