– The Riverton city officials recapped Tuesday’s council meeting, which included reports on Kevin Lee’s retirement from the police force and presentations from Sen. Eli Bebout and a representative from Wyoming Community Gas. Listeners also learned the ordinance governing night closure of the city’s parks passed as did term limits for the city’s four boards – Appeals, Planning, Tree and Airport.

Australian Shepherd Mo is waiting to be adopted from the Riverton shelter.

– Pamela Canham said tickets are still available for Saturday’s PAWS ‘n Pearls fund-raiser for the local animal shelter. They’re $40 in advance at the shelter, Stock Doc and Hooper Law Office, or $50 at the door. The event starts at 7 p.m. at the Fremont County Fairgrounds in Riverton and includes tasting of wines and brews and both a silent and live auction.

– Meteorologist Chris Jones of the National Weather Service in Riverton said the forecasted rain and snow expected to move into the area today didn’t materialize, but the temperature will get colder by the weekend, down to the 40s. Though the snow missed us, he said it’s time to get prepared for winter and gave tips on what to do.
