Health official says not too late for flu shot – to listen — CLICK HERE

By KVOW/KTAK News Director Leslie Stratmoen

RIVERTON, Wyo. — The flu season runs through March, so public health officials are saying it’s not too late to get a flu shot. Just remember, it takes a couple weeks to be affective.

Nurse Teresa Nirider of the local public health office explains how the vaccine works …..

She said her office is out of the vaccine for the season, so is telling people to check with their doctor’s office or local pharmacy to get a shot.

She went on to say it’s sometimes difficult to tell if you have the flu or just a cold. The big thing to remember with this flu strain, she said, is that it hits your lungs …..

So, to protect yourself from the virus, the advice remains the same — wash your hands frequently, clean common areas with bleach, sneeze or cough into your sleeve or just stay home if you’re sick.
