Riverton City Issues: 2013

Riverton City Officials have a standing engagement on Chit Chat for the Monday and Wednesday, before and after, Tuesday night council meetings, which means they appear the first and third week of the month. The council meets the first and third Tuesday of each month, at 7 p.m., or at 6:30 p.m. if an executive session is scheduled, at City Hall in Riverton. Host of the show is KVOW/KTAK News Director Leslie Stratmoen.

MAY

Wednesday, May 8 – Riverton city leaders said the council awarded a bid for concrete repairs Tuesday night to Inberg Miller of Riverton, approved alcohol beverage catering permits, learned that Volunteers of American was taking over operation of the Fremont County Alcohol Crisis Center on Monday and invited contractors to attend a meeting this week to learn the specifics of bids being accepted for the Job Corps center.

FEBRUARY

Monday & Wednesday, Feb. 18 and 20 – Riverton Mayor Ron Warpness previewed Tuesday’s meeting on Monday, saying the council would take its final vote on the chicken ordinance, discuss amenities for North Federal Boulevard, hear an update on the Solutions Committee from Riverton Police Chief Mike Broadhead and set goals — CLICK HERE

The mayor returned Wednesday, with City Administrator Steven Weaver and Councilman Gard to tell listeners the council voted the chicken ordinance into law, approved decorative lighting and an irrigation system for North Federal, approved liquor license renewals and talked about creating a city float for the county fair — CLICK HERE

Monday, Feb. 4, 2013 – Riverton City Administrator Steven Weaver and Mayor Ron Warpness previewed Tuesday’s Council meeting. Items on the agenda include: a public hearing on the North Federal Boulevard rebuild project, discussion of a wildlife hazard plan, board appointments, report on alcohol establishments and second reading and vote on an ordinance allowing chickens in city limits.
