Rockies plate late run to beat Yankees in Babe Ruth Baseball

Riverton: Seven hits weren’t enough for the  Yankees as it lost a shootout, 15-14 in seven innings, to the Rockies on Wednesday at the  Riverton Babe Ruth Fields.

Niko Garcia racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Yankees. He singled in the first and third innings.

Fransisco Perada got the win for the Rockies. He tossed one inning of shutout ball. Perada struck out two, walked none and gave up no hits.

The Rockies pounded the  Yankees pitching, as six hitters combined for eight hits, six RBIs and 13 runs scored.

The Rockies jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. A single by David Gard, plating Perada started the inning off. The Rockies then tacked on more runs when LaJeuness scored on a walk by Tyler Farrar.

The Rockies scored four runs in the second inning, and then followed it up with four more in the third. In the second, the Rockies scored on a walk by Brayden Draper, scoring Zach Tenlen.

The Rockies scored on an RBI single by Braxton LaJeuness, a fielder’s choice, a walk by Farrar.

The Yankees got three-run rallies in the fourth inning and the sixth. In the fourth, the  Yankees scored on a ground out by Kyren Higgs, plating Nate Young.

The Rockies matched their one-run fourth inning with one more in the seventh. In the fourth, the Rockies scored on a walk by Draper, scoring Tenlen.

The Rockies scored three runs of their own in the sixth. The Rockies scored on an RBI triple by Draper, an RBI single by Perada, and a walk by Gard.

Final Score 15-14
