Hill Says Mead Failing on Education
(Cheyenne) — Superintendent of Public Instruction Cindy Hill says a recent audit indicates the Wyoming Department of Education is failing to provide important data information under the leadership of Governor Matt Mead.
Hill says that information is needed to meet state and federal mandates.
Hill says last summer, despite her objections, the governor took away over half of the education department’s Information Management staff and funding for his new Department of Enterprise Technology Services.
She says her concerns about the cuts were ignored and this is the second time an outside audit is reporting the Education Department is struggling under Mead’s leadership.
