Riverton All Stars Win 18-6

Laramie: Hayden Wempen clubbed three home runs to carry the Riverton All Stars to an 18-6 win over Gillette in the State Little League 3rd place game in five innings.

Hayden racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Riverton All Stars. He homered in the first, fourth, and fifth innings.

Ten runs in the first three innings helped Riverton  blow out Gillette. An RBI single by Kobe Matsen, a sacrifice fly by Mason Lucas, a two-run home run by Hayden, and a solo home run by Chase Garcia during the first inning, and an RBI double by Kobe and an error in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Riverton All Stars.

RIVERTON LL Majors Riverton All Stars hit six home runs in the win. Additional home runs for RIVERTON LL Majors Riverton All Stars came when Cody Frazierhomered in the fourth inning, Hayden homered in the first, fourth, and fifth innings, and Kobe homered in the fifth inning.

Kobe Matsen recorded the win for Riverton. He allowed two runs over four innings. Kobe struck out one, walked one and gave up four hits.

Five runs in the bottom of the second helped Gillette close its deficit to 7-5. A solo home run by Mason Powell, an RBI single by Colton Pilon, two  fielder’s choice, and an RBI single by Mason gave Gillette life.

Riverton increased its lead with three runs in the third. A strike out scored Chase Garcia for the inning’s first run. That was followed up by Kobe’s single, plating Isaac DeVries and Dillon Lange.

Rivertons All Stars piled on two more runs in the top of the fourth. Cody Frazier started the inning with a solo blast. That was followed up by Hayden’s  2nd homerun a solo shot.

Riverton added six more runs in the top of the fifth. A three-run blast by Kobe Matsen ignited the offense,, scoring Jaren Draper and Peyton Rees. That was followed up by Hayden’s three-run home run his third homerun on the night plating Cody Frazier and James Hampton.

Riverton will now play in the Championship game against Cody on Saturday @ 1pm.

The game has been moved back 1hr due to umpire scheduling. If Riverton Wins the game they will both play again @ 4pm for the State Title and the right to represent Wyoming in the Regionals in San Bernardino CA.
