(Riverton) — Friday’s ground breaking for the Wind River Job Corps Center signals another step forward in ensuring Wyoming’s employers have access to a highly-skilled workforce ready to go to work.

Sandy Barton of the Fremont County Board of Cooperative Educational Services was one of the key individuals in bringing the center to Wyoming and says Job Corps around the country see the potential in those who may have yet to recognize it with within themselves.

Wyoming Workforce Services Director Joan Evans adds the new facility will engage Wyoming’s young people and help foster their talents.

State and federal research shows there should be growth of about 20 percent in demand for workers with machinery mechanic, truck driving and health care skills in Wyoming and the Job Corps will provide workers with those abilities.
