Powell Dominates Wolverines in Week 1

Powell: The Riverton Wolverines started the game by quieting, and stunning the hometown crowd in Powell with a 66yd pass play from Brandon Fullerton to Austin Patterson on the first play from scrimmage for a Touchdown in the first 12 seconds of the game Friday night. The Powell Panthers though would show the Wolverines why they are the defending two time State Champs though with 49 unanswered  points in the next 36 mins before the game was called due to weather (lighting) in the area.

The Powell Panthers took control of the game in  the end of the first quarter after blocking a Riverton field goal attempt and scoring with a 13yd run by Corey Heny his 2nd touchdown of the first half. Powell took a 15-6 lead going into the 2nd quarter at that point. Another Riverton turnover an interception led to Heny’s 3rd touchdown with 5:32 left in the quarter to lead 21-6, the xtra point attempt was missed. Powell lead at halftime 35-6 and would score 2 more times in the 3rd quarter and win the game 49-6.

Up next for Riverton will be the Green River Wolves Friday Sept 13th at Riverton. Kick off is schedule for 7pm
