Riverton Wolverines Score 27 Unanswered Points in 2nd Quarter

Riverton: The Riverton Wolverines would score 27 unanswered points in the 2nd quarter to turn the game around Friday night and beat Torrington 49-21 to Win their Homecoming Game.

The game saw the Wolverines get scored on first as Torrington would march down the field with 4:06 left in the first to go in from 1 yard out with Trey Faessler scoring his first of 3 TD’s for the Trailblazers. Riverton would answer 3 minutes later when Tristan White would take his first of 3 touchdowns in from 1 yard out. The Wolverines would go for 2 points and get it with the “swinging gate” as Austin Patterson would throw to White and the Wolverines had the lead 8-7. On the ensuing kick off though, Faessler again would score on a 96 yard kick return to give Torrington the lead 14-8 at the end of one.

The second quarter would see 34 points put up on the scoreboard  27 of those would be the Wolverines as they would score 4  times. Brandon Fullerton from 9 yards out, Steven Reinig 1 yard run, a 10yd pass from Fullerton to Ian McMenamy and Tristan Whites 2nd score from 22 yards out. The Wolverines scored 27 unanswered points to get a 35-21 halftime lead.

The Wolverine defense took over in the third quarter with 3 interceptions and two of those would be turned into points as the Wolverines would score on a 4 yard run (Tristan White) his third TD of the night and a 3 yard run by Brandon Fullerton to put the score at 49-21 with 1:53 left in the 3rd quarter. This would be all the scoring in the game.

The Wolverines will now wait til Friday for the next opponent which will be for the Conference Championship as Douglas comes to town. The game will be broadcast on KTAK 93.9 FM and online @ starting with the pre-game show @ 6pm
