Uden Preliminary Hearing Wednesday

(Riverton) – After 33 years, Gerald Uden will have a preliminary hearing on three first-degree murder charges tomorrow (Wednesday) at 9 a.m.

Uden is accused of murdering his wife Virginia, 32, and her two children Richard, 12, and Reagan, 10, on September 12th, 1980 in Fremont County.

The 71-year-old Uden apparently confessed to investigators he committed the murders after his current wife was arrested in Missouri on a first degree murder charge related to the death of a man she was briefly married to in the mid 1970s.

A break in both cases developed when the remains of Alice Uden’s missing husband were found in an abandoned mine shaft outside Cheyenne.

At this point, it’s not clear whether the prosecution will seek the death penalty in either case.
