13 Wolves Hunted

Submitted by rebecca on October 16, 2013 – 11:23 amNo Comment
(Cheyenne) — Hunters have killed half of the allowable number of wolves in trophy hunting areas around Yellowstone National Park.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department says 13 wolves have been taken so far in this hunting season, which is half of the allowable quota of 26.

Last year’s quota was 52 wolves but that number was reduced to stabilize the population at desired levels.

Outside the trophy game hunting areas, wolves are considered predators that may be shot on site.
