Weather Slowing Final Harvests
(Powell) — Rain and snow in various parts of Wyoming is causing farmers to fall behind on their final harvests.
Camby Reynolds of the University of Wyoming Extension Service says sugar beat fields have been too muddy to get into because of the two major storms earlier this month.
Reynolds says the early snow didn’t hurt the final crops still out in the field.
He points out a good freeze helps increase the sugar content in beats and it also helps to dry out corn and sun flower crops.
