Eugenia Monroe

Eugenia Monroe, 46 of Riverton died at the Casper Medical Center on Saturday, March 8, 2014. A rosary will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 7:00 pm at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church with a wake to follow at 972 Rendezvous Road. A funeral mass will be on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church with Father Phil Wagner officiating. Burial will follow at the Arapaho Catholic Cemetery.

Eugenia Lee Monroe was born on November 2, 1967 in Englewood, CA to Eugene J. and Geraldine L. (Smith) Monroe. When she was three years old the family moved back to Riverton. She graduated from Riverton High School with the class of 1986. She then moved to Albuquerque, NM where she attended the SIPI Technical School. She lived in Casper, WY for a time before moving back to Riverton fourteen years ago.

She was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church.

She worked at St. Stephen’s Indian School as a business manger before going to work at Wind River Casino as their business manager.

Her family said she loved fill in puzzle books, cross-stitching, backing and hanging out with her niece Katie and grandsons, Cyan and Keenan Ware.

She is survived by her sons, Braden Monroe of Riverton; her daughter, BrayLee Ware and her husband, Dylan; grandsons, Cyan and Keenan Ware; her daughters, Katie Monroe and Tyler Monroe; special niece, Solana Sisneros; special nephew, Kristian Monroe; her brothers, Jay Monroe, Erron Monroe, Jarron Monroe, Darron Monroe, Mark Engavo, and Darwin Perea; her sisters, Erica Engavo, Elberta Monroe, and Elaine Monroe; God parents, Sara Lopez and Glenn Smith; the families of Mandersons, Smiths, Montoyas, Pereas, Monroes, Browns, Fridays, Durgins, Garcias, and Jaramillos; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Monroe; her companion Ted Brings Yellow; her grandmothers, Ellen Parrick and Ellen R Garcia; her grandfather, Pedro Garcia; her great grandfather, Vincent Brown; and her aunt, Agnes L. Brown.
