(Gillette/AP) – Troopers investigating an accident where a bus crashed into eight vehicles in a construction zone south of Gillette killing three people Wednesday morning say the bus may have been on cruise control just before the wreck.

The Gillette News Record says the victims are Colin Schultz, 37, Christopher Joubert, 40, and Charles Errington, 55, all of Gillette.

Three other people were injured in the crash which is still under investigation.

As of May 15, 43 people have lost their lives on Wyoming highways with nine deaths in eight separate crashes this month.

The lack of seat belt usage was a significant factor in five of those wrecks.
