(Riverton) – Minor flooding is occurring along the Wind River in the Riverton and Dubois areas and the river is near the flood stage in areas between the communities.

The river has passed the five foot level in the Dubois area and is flowing at just over nine feet at Riverton.

Those figures are past the flood stage for the areas.

The National Weather Service predicts water levels will rise over the next several days due to warm weather, afternoon thunderstorms and associated snowmelt runoff.

Water levels are expected to peak at 10.4 feet at Riverton by tomorrow morning then gradually recede.
