(Riverton) – It has been a good calving season across the state of Wyoming this spring, according to the latest report from National Agricultural Statistics Service.

Producers report cattle and calf losses as 41 percent light, 58 percent average and only one percent heavy.

Kelly Crane of the University of Wyoming Extension Service says we’ve had good spring precipitation and things look promising for good forage production.

Range and pasture conditions are rated at 65 percent good but last year at this time only 17 percent of those lands were considered good.
