(Cheyenne) – Last week, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, in conjunction with the U.S. Marshal’s Service, conducted “Operation Jessica” on the Wind River Indian Reservation.

Operation Jessica is intended to ensure those convicted of sex offenses are properly registered with Tribal law enforcement and several non-compliant offenders were located.

They will be prosecuted in the Shoshone or Arapaho Tribal Court or the U.S. District Court.

Those convicted of sexual offenses who intend to spend more than 24 hours on the Reservation are required to be in contact with the Wind River Sex Offender Registration Office.
